Karen Fornadel, M.Ed. has been working as an art teacher and artist for over twenty years. She currently teaches at York Suburban High School and is an occasional Lecturer in Art at York College of Pennsylvania. Her portfolio of artwork focuses on pastel and colored pencil drawings and watercolor and oil paintings of landscapes and flowers. She is inspired by the beauty of nature and the joy of sharing art with her students and her family.
Karen's work was featured in an exhibit entitled "Searching for Self" at the YorkArts@CityArt Gallery in October of 2013. She received a Creative York Award in October of 2014 and participated in the 1st MonsterDraw Fundraising Rally at YorkArts in January of 2015 and 2018.
In 2016, she participated in York College's Faculty Biennial Exhibition in 2016 and created a series of 20 small works based on visit's to York's Central Market as a part of CreativeYork's CSA (Community Supported Art) program.
In 2018, Karen's work was included in the Art in Industry: Rutter's - A York Icon exhibit. She was also a featured artist at Kaletta's on 57 N. Beaver Street for the month of August and presented with her colleagues at the Pennsylvania Art Education Association's Conference in October in Harrisburg.
